FGASA Apprentice Field Guide Training

Nature can take you on a profound personal and professional journey. We allow that journey whilst providing you with the foundation to succeed.

Enrol in our training programme to pursue a career in environmental conservation, tourism or the lodge industry or simply to enhance your existing knowledge and skills set. We operate from Tehilla Eco Village located in the Greater Kruger National Park. We offer personalised training in small groups to develop your individual strengths and interests. You’ll have the benefit of completing your training under the mentorship of a single principal trainer who is a BSc graduate with majors in Zoology & Botany and a Specialist Teaching qualification.

Campfire Academy is a FGASA and CATHSSETA accredited training centre and our curriculum is reviewed regularly to ensure that it remains relevant and conscious of industry requirements. Campfire’s passionate and knowledgeable graduates obtain employment in various positions throughout Southern Africa.

Duration: 90 days (full-time)

Your theoretical examination and practical assessment will be completed at Campfire Academy.

Laundry Facilities

You will be responsible for the travel arrangements and costs to reach Campfire Academy or any of our collection points in the Hoedspruit area before the start of the programme, as well as the arrangements and costs from Campfire Academy or any of our departure points at the end of the programme. The costs of optional and social activities not related to the programme and personal purchases remain the responsibility of the student.
